Heavenly Lake

1.Changji locates 35km to the Northwest of Urumqi, it is an important stop on the northern Silk Road.
It hosts famous Heavenly Lke, Wucaiwan Yartan Formation,and Petroglyph.
2.This is an alpine lake which came into being 20 milliaon years ago.At the Altitude of 1980meters above sea level, the lake is in a Crescent moon shape. It is authorized
    key Scenic Spot in 1982.In Ancient time, it was called JAde Lake.
    According to the legend, it was the place for Xiwangmu to host Emperor Zhoumu wang about 5000years ago.This event was mentioned many times by the poets.It is also said that the Heavenly Lake was the Silver mirrior on the dressing table for JAde Empress
,some other said it was the pond for Jade Empress to take bath.The mist on the lake is considered the clothes for Jade Empress, the lesser Heavenly is the basin for her to wash her feet.
    THese legends gift the Heavenly Lake a strong sense of mystery.In Summer , it is very beautiful here , and the weather here is also very favorable which makes an ideal place for people to take rest and be away form the noisy city life and scorching sunlight.
    You can walk in the forests, or you can trekk in the depth of the mountain,also you can take a boating on the lake.In Winter, this place is covered by snow.The lake is also frozen, makes a perfert alpine ski ranch.
