Sayram lake

When you are driving from Urumqi to Yining and get to Ta¡¯erqinsi Mountain area which is to the Southwest of Bole city, you will see this lake. It is about 2073 meters above sea level,and covers an are of 450square Kilometers, is the largest alpine lake in Xinjiang and it si named celestial Lake, Milky lake.In summer ,you will see the beautiful grassland dotted with yellow flowers and white yurts.The lake is crystal clrear.On the grassland , the Kazak shepherds are grazing their herds.
The shepherds are very hospitable.They usually serve the guest with milk tea and slaughter one lamb.If we get there by nadam Festival, you can also enjoy the colorful kazak Folk games.
Sayram lake is surrounded by mountains. The climate here is humid,annual rainfall is about 400 mm , and average temperature is only 1.1¡ãC.
In the lake , there raised cold water fish, there are 16 species . Every July, there will be a Sayram festival held here. The Mongolians and kazak who live arround the lake will flock together to celebrate the annual event.
Sayram lake is the largets and the most beautiful alpine lake in Xinjiang as well as an important tourist resort. Sayram lake is a lake which locates in the depth of Mountain, there is a small island.The sunrise and sunset here are very spectacular.
The local legend ,the Sayram lake is made by tears of two young kazak lovers.
